THE LEGEND OF KUCHISAKE ONNA

Hundred years ago, there was a beautiful young girl who was the concubine of a samurai. That girl was gorgeous, but she also was very vain, and she liked sharing her beauty with other man although her lover was very jealous. One day, the samurai decide to finish with her flirting and he cut her mouth from ear to ear, shouting, "And now, who will think you're beautiful?"

It is told that, from that day, her spirit wanders at cloudy nights with her face covered with a surgery mask. If a kid or a young boy crosses her path, she askes him; "Am I beautiful?". If he says yes, she takes away her mask and, showing him her deformed face, asks "And now?". If the person says yes again, Kuchisake Onna cuts his face like they did to her. If he says no, she will probably get angry with him and kill him.

During the 70's decade Kuchisake Onna was seen many times in Japan... True or false? Who knows...

LA LEYENDA DE KUCHISAKE ONNA

Hace cientos de años vivía una hermosa joven que era la concubina de un samurai. Era muy hermosa, pero también vanidosa, y le gustaba compartir su belleza con otros hombres a pesar de que su amante era muy celoso. Un día, el samurai decidió terminar con sus coqueteos y le cortó la boca de oreja a oreja gritando: "Y ahora, ¿quién creerá que eres bella?"

Se cuenta que desde entonces su espíritu vaga en las noches nubladas con el rostro cubierto por una mascarilla quirúrgica. Si algún niño o joven se cruza con ella, ella le pregunta: "¿Soy bella?". Si la persona responde que sí, ella se retira la mascarilla y, mostrándole la cara deformada, pregunta: "¿Y ahora?". Si la persona responde que sí de nuevo, Kuchisake Onna le corta el rostro al igual que le hicieron a ella. Si dice que no, probablemente se enfurecerá y lo matará.Durante los años 70 se vio numerosas veces a Kuchisake Onna en Japón... ¿verdad o mentira? Quién sabe...
